Lawrence H. Carley, 88 , of Brattleboro died Oct. 17, 2007, in Thompson House. He was born in South Londonderry, June 26, 1919, the son of Frank M. and Ruby Vail Carley. The family moved to Brattleboro in 1922, where he attended local schools. On Oct. 10, 1939, he married Helen Viola Dewey of Brookfield. On Oct. 10, 1999, they had the honor and pleasure of celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. They lived most of their lives in Brattleboro. A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the submarine tender U.S.S. Clytie. AS-26 in the South Pacific. Lawrence is survived by one son, Brian L. Carley of Marlboro, two daughters, Jerilynn D. Bruneau of Guilford, Joyce A. Banford of Brattleboro; nine grandchildren, and 17 greatgrandchildren. |
